Internal Combustion Engines II
The lecture initially covers the charge cycle of the different configurations of combustion engines (Four-stroke engine, Wankel engine, Two-stroke engine). The importance of wave operations during the charge cycle as well as the influence of constructive measure is shown by acoustical theories. The duties, building types and dynamic processes of valve trains are dealt with in a further section whereat references to the construction are given. Furthermore the different charge procedures and their impacts regarding performance and efficiency are examined.
Diverse fuel-mixture generation processes are presented, amongst others the suction tube and direct injection of the gasoline engine and the direct injection of the diesel engine. The generation of the pollutants in the exhaust gas as well as their influence is shown for gasoline and diesel engines.
